Camshaft warning notice: Regardless of the supplier, warranties are hard to obtain. Increased quality of machining and materials make it very hard to fault the cam or lifter. Almost all cam manufacturers use the same hardened cores and use computer controlled machines for accurate lobe grinding. The three American lifter manufacturers all rockwell the bottoms of their lifters. Almost all failures are due to coil bind, improper break-in, valve float, foreign material, or lifters not rotating in the bore of the block.
We will be glad to help you with any information for a successful cam swap. If you do have a problem, we will be glad to check it and if need be send it to the manufacturer. If it passes the rockwell test, a warranty is almost certainly unobtainable; but if you wish we can still let the manufacturer make a warranty decision.
Please note: Valve lift of camshafts are calculated with a stock rocker arm ratio of 1.75. To calculate the valve lift for other rocker arm ratios divide the valve lift shown by 1.75 to get the cam lift. Then multiply by the ratio of the rocker arm you choose to use.
Valve lift in catalog: (.510 / 1.75 = .291 * 1.70 = .495)
